Just a short remarks: take care about the character size on the figures. the taxa names of the pollen diagram are too little. If the figures are reduced in the published version, they will not be readable.
please rephrase the sentence "however.... same time" (p 8, line 237-238). it is not clear even if I have understood the general idea you want to develop.
